LAT Nitrogen, a leading European supplier of nitrogen-based products in the plant nutrients and industrial chemicals market sees a unique momentum in the widely supported call for a European Industrial Deal, translated into the Antwerp Declaration. Since its launch on 20 February 2024, thousand industrial leaders, associations and trade union organisations across Europe have signed the Declaration, underlining the need for action to address the economic challenges that threaten European competitiveness.
LAT Nitrogen itself signed the Antwerp Declaration shortly after its launch. "For more than a year we have been voicing our concerns to authorities and politicians at all levels of society, both as an individual company and within the trade associations of which we are members," says Leo Alders, CEO of LAT Nitrogen. "Recognition of the economic challenges we face has been slow and the momentum created by the Antwerp Declaration should strengthen action on the key points contained in the Declaration and help make up for lost time. More than ever, Europe needs an industry that is sustainable in every sense of the word."
The European Council this week and the Competitiveness Council in May, the Letta and Draghi reports, the Clean Transition Dialogues, and the Antwerp Declaration all come together in a historic moment for industry in Europe.
